My Front Garden
In our small inner-city garden all the flowers are out which is so beautiful and the smell is amazing, currently we have jasmine, a jacaranda, cherry blossom, and gardenias blooming which is pretty much every plant or tree we own. This is the front garden, and my boys in their pajamas helping daddy do a clean up. Amazing how exciting gardening is when you are young.

Good Food Affare
There is a Good Food Affare being help from November 21st to the 23rd in Castle Hill, Sydney. The styling and brochure for the event has been so outstanding I can't wait to go. There is going to be food, flowers, growers and makers, cafe, coffee, cheese, a tea room, cakes.... the list goes on and on and everything looks and sounds so good. Oh and the beautiful pictures, I can hardly get to the words as I am too busy eating up the pictures.

A Beautiful House
Well its no surprise that I have a love of Queensland houses and Terrace houses but as of late I seem to be finding quite a few Qlder's I am falling for. This one is currently for sale and if I was in the market or the price category I would jump. It is a renovated house but with all the modern conveniences. For some reason I would never want a new Qlder or terrace it feels a little like having a fake bag a big no no. A new California bungalow well that is a different story perhaps because I don't know the history of the house.

Very cute on the outside, I love the grey.

This is the ensuite bathroom to the master bedroom and from the plans the dressing room looks equally large, how indulgent. This room seems to be created from what was traditionally the enclosed veranda, very clever and something I haven't seen done much before but I love it.

Kelly Wearstler Inspired Garden
In this months home beautiful magazine there is a glamorous home created by a family on a budget, I always love to see what people can do especially with budgetary restraints. My favourite picture is the one below of the garden room. They have installed curtains that work beautifully with the rustic brick wall behind.
As soon as I saw these pictures they reminded me of the glamorous Kelly Wearstler, due to the cabana curtain.
The photo above also looks very Ms Wearstler inspired doing house hold chores all dressed up.
This photo is from Modern Glamour, one of my favourite books with the very similar cabana curtain. Sunday, September 21, 2008
Welcome To The Sticks

Last night I went to the movies with some girlfriends, we saw 'Welcome To The Sticks' it is an extremely funny French film, which has become so popular in France it has over taken the Titanic and has become the biggest success in French history. Highly recommend it for a laugh. The next on my list is Caramel, which is also a french movie and looks like a great girly film.
How Much Is That Doggie In The Window
Although I am an animal lover I generally like the idea more than the reality of having a dog, particularly with the extra work load and poop duty. But if I do ever have a dog I want to have a seriously glam dog house, here is some inspiration.

The last 4 shots are all doghouses from barchiture who have very cleverly created some seriously stylish abodes. However their website seems to have disappeared so I will need to use them more as inspiration. I hope they haven't gone out of business.
The 1st photo is from Belle, all other photos I have lost the resource.

Hecker Phelan & Guthrie do it again
Every time I see a shot of an interior that I fall in love with I soon discover it has been designed by Hecker Phelan & Guthrie and Bistro Guillaume is no exception. This restaurant looks beautiful, I love the light fixtures, which were worked on by a couturier dressmaker. I don't know when I will get to Melbourne next but hopefully it will be in the near future as my list of must dos is growing at an alarming pace.

Harry Seidler House
This house is currently for sale in Sydney or Joadja (90) minutes from Sydney, it was designed by Harry Seidler and what a masterpiece. Can't you just imagine having a glass of red under the stars or having a moonlight swim. It must be beautiful to live so close to the city but in your own little piece of paradise.

Florence Broadhurst

The wonderful people at Signature Prints have done it again and have come up with a range of paints that compliment their wonderful Florence Broadhurst wallpapers. Apparently the paint comes in gloss, brushed and pearlescent finishes, I can't wait to see some pictures of the finished products. I love Florence Broadhurst she was such an amazing Australian woman and I love so many of her fabrics and wallpapers.

Loving this Garden
I guess the warmer weather is making me think more about gardening and being outside. I love this garden, especially the black outdoor furniture and the black and white striped pool lounges.
Photo from DominoMag Feb 08
Beautiful, I guess it needs to get a little warmer yet to think about swimming outside but there is a light at the end of the winter tunnel. Although I don't really know what I am complaining about this is our first winter in Sydney since moving back from New York and you really can't say anything bad about Australian winters, we didn't once have to put on gloves or a hat.

Tori Mellott's Apartment
I loved seeing Tori Mellott's, DominoMag's Decoration Editor, apartment some years ago in DominoMag so when I read that she had redecorated I was thrilled to see the results. She lives in a 450 sq-foot apartment in Manhattan, our Manhattan apartment wasn't much bigger so I know how difficult it can be to keep it clutter free. She has amazing taste and brings together interesting pieces to create a unique look. Her new style is much more sophisticated just like she seems to be.
The photo above is the before shot.

The stripes are beautiful and much more refined.
I love the splashes of colour in the kitchen. I am a white kitchen person but do have dreams of going a little wild in there but personally I always go back to white.

Beautiful Gardens
In my current assignment for my Interior Design Course I am staging a house for sale. This house has a very tiny outdoor space about 4x4 meters. As a great source of garden inspiration I always look at the amazing Jack Merlo Design Website http://jackmerlodesign.com/. I have many gardens that I have ripped out of magazines from over the years and it is amazing how many of them were designed by Jack. My favourite is the Strathmore Residence or the first photo which there are more photos of on his website. Jack was just 18 when he started as a professional landscaper and quickly made a name for himself, I really admire people like him with so much talent and the ability to put it in practice from a young age.

Cool Kids
I am loving the bed linen from Kideko at the moment and I have decided I am going to get the Action Set (lightning bolts) for my little boy once he graduates from his crib to a big boy bed. But the yellow set Sunshine is also really cute and would be great in a room shared by a boy and girl, I particularly like the ROCK poster.

My Beautiful Armoire
Today looking at Anna Spiro's blog http://absolutelybeautifulthings.blogspot.com/ she blogged about an old armoire that she has her eyes on (see bottom picture). I recently bought something similar and have just reassembled it in our bedroom for added storage. I too was thinking that it would look great in a kitchen or really anywhere in the house. My question is do you think I should get it painted white or leave it as is? I am in very mixed minds about it. Mum I know you think it should stay as is.

Picture from Absolutely Beautiful ThingsOutstanding Home
Flicking through the Real Estate section of the SMH this morning I came across this amazing home at offers over $10million obviously I was just looking, but isn't it beautiful. Truly amazing modernist architecture. I would love to see the front of the house, and the kitchen, it goes to show the house must be incredible because they didn't even show the kitchen when normally that is a selling feature.
