Beautiful Gardens

In my current assignment for my Interior Design Course I am staging a house for sale. This house has a very tiny outdoor space about 4x4 meters. As a great source of garden inspiration I always look at the amazing Jack Merlo Design Website http://jackmerlodesign.com/. I have many gardens that I have ripped out of magazines from over the years and it is amazing how many of them were designed by Jack. My favourite is the Strathmore Residence or the first photo which there are more photos of on his website. Jack was just 18 when he started as a professional landscaper and quickly made a name for himself, I really admire people like him with so much talent and the ability to put it in practice from a young age.

Cool Kids

I am loving the bed linen from Kideko at the moment and I have decided I am going to get the Action Set (lightning bolts) for my little boy once he graduates from his crib to a big boy bed. But the yellow set Sunshine is also really cute and would be great in a room shared by a boy and girl, I particularly like the ROCK poster.

My Beautiful Armoire

Today looking at Anna Spiro's blog http://absolutelybeautifulthings.blogspot.com/ she blogged about an old armoire that she has her eyes on (see bottom picture). I recently bought something similar and have just reassembled it in our bedroom for added storage. I too was thinking that it would look great in a kitchen or really anywhere in the house. My question is do you think I should get it painted white or leave it as is? I am in very mixed minds about it. Mum I know you think it should stay as is. Picture from Absolutely Beautiful Things

Outstanding Home

Flicking through the Real Estate section of the SMH this morning I came across this amazing home at offers over $10million obviously I was just looking, but isn't it beautiful. Truly amazing modernist architecture. I would love to see the front of the house, and the kitchen, it goes to show the house must be incredible because they didn't even show the kitchen when normally that is a selling feature.

Sydney Style

I love looking at real estate and when it is feature in the latest 'the (sydney) magazine' in an article called sydney's (best) houses it makes it easier to peer into gorgeous homes. It is a great article and I am sure difficult to come up with as Sydney has some amazing houses. The criteria used took into consideration Sydney's unique characteristics and what it means to live here. Each home had to have 'outstanding architecture, inspired interiors, a spectacular position and reflect the essence of our city: its views, its indoor/outdoor way of life and its sense of style'.

What great criteria as it really does sum up Sydney. Here is a round up of my favourite photos from the article.

Wow, what breathtaking views, wouldn't it be amazing to wake up and have breakfast over looking that amazing view.
This is the dining room from Iain Halliday's house. I love the mix of vintage and modern.
The two photos above are from the same home. I would love to be at a NYEve party here.

Jordi Labanda

I think Jordi Labanda's drawings are amazing, some of them look so good I feel I could move straight in, if only they were real. His book Hey Day, which I re looked at the other day has some great images of lives that look super cool, of parties I would love to go to and people who look too cool for school. Here are some of my favourites interior shots.

There are also some great pictures of glamorous girls that would look fantastic on a tween's bedroom maybe grouped together above the bed in white frames.

I have put this photo on because I think it is very funny and as a thin lipped person would love the oomph this provides but without the looser factor. This picture is great as I have definitely sacrificed in the name of pieces I loved. When my husband and I moved to our first apartment we used a box for our dining table.

Hunting and Gathering

On the weekend I watched the film Hunting and Gathering staring Audrey Tautou. I have loved every movie I have seen with her in it and this one did not disappoint. As an added bonus the apartment the movie was set in was beautiful, yes it needed work but it was still amazing.

I Love Jimmy Choo's

It has been beautiful to walk through the city the last few days and really appreciate how beautiful Sydney is again. There have been a few great additions to the shopping strip of Castlereagh Street including Tiffany&Co and Jimmy Choo. I popped in to the Jimmy Choo store yesterday and it is decorated beautifully in their trademark mauve colour but it reminded me of the beautiful flat of Tamara Mellon, the founder and president of Jimmy Choo. Such a beautiful yet fun space.
Very fittingly glamorous.
Isn't this the most amazing shoe closet, filled to the brim with Jimmy Choos. Doesn't this lady know how to live she also has a closet just for jeans and has someone color-coordinate her clothes seasonally. WOW.
I love this office space, the beautiful desk, the Eames chair in such a hot pink and the Andy Warhol print of the beautiful Grace Kelly. There is so much personality in each room you get a real hint of who she is.
The bedroom is a little more mellow than the rest of the house but extremely beautiful.

Farmer Wants A Wife

I have been really enjoying the show Farmer Wants A Wife probably because most of the guys actually seem like really nice guys who have just been too busy on their farm to find a girl. While I was really happy that three of the farmers seem to have found a match I couldn't believe that Nick choose the very young blonde girl after having just kissed his other match. Anyway I love this picture and it reminded me of the program, maybe if all the farmers had this pool on their properties they would have more luck with the ladies.
